Patrick Bet-David: Early Life and Education
Patrick Bet-David has a mixed heritage, with an Assyrian father and an Armenian mother. In 1989, to escape the effects of the Islamic Revolution, Patrick's family left Iran and spent two years in a refugee camp in West Germany. On November 28, 1990, they moved to Glendale, California. After finishing high school, Patrick joined the U.S. Army and served with the 101st Airborne Division for three years. He later attended Santa Monica College for a short time, studying nutrition, before dropping out to start his career.
Career Journey
While studying at Santa Monica College, Patrick Bet-David worked as a membership marketer at Bally Total Fitness. He later left college to start a career at Morgan Stanley and then moved on to work for Transamerica Corporation.
Building PHP Agency
Patrick Bet-David founded PHP Agency Inc. in 2009, which stands for People Helping People. The agency uses a multi-level marketing (MLM) model to offer life insurance and annuities in the U.S. In August 2017, PHP secured $10 million for expansion from Ambina Partners, Atalaya Capital Management, Brener International Group, and former boxer Oscar De La Hoya.

In December 2020, Bet-David sold a Wayne Gretzky rookie card for over $1 million, the first hockey card to achieve such a value.
